Lions Charity Football Game:  A cooperative endeavor between McMurry University and the Lions Clubs of District 2-E1, Region 6.   In 1982, the Abilene Founder Lions Club began the Annual Lions Charity game as a benefit for the Texas Lions Camp.  The Lions Clubs sponsor the first at home McMurry University Indians football game by selling ads, publishing and selling the game programs, selling tickets, and running the concession stand.  All proceeds from the game, after actual expenses, go to the Texas Lions Camp to benefit handicapped/diabetic children.
